Access to the Allied Health Services requires a referral from a GP.
This clinic bulk bills, therefore no out of pocket expenses are required for the services used from us.
Telephoning your doctor
Doctors in this clinic may be contacted by phone during normal hours 8:00am – 4:30pm. If the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned as soon as possible. If your call is urgent, you will always be put straight through to the doctor.
Results and Reminder System
Our clinic is committed to preventative care. Test results will be reviewed by Doctors. Patients who require further follow up or treatment will be called back in. When registering with the clinic you have the option of registering to receive reminder notices regarding health care services appropriate to your care.
Feedback and Complaints
We also welcome comments and suggestions regarding the care you receive at our clinic. Please feel free to talk to the Doctor or Clinic Manager. Appointments are encouraged at this clinic. Clients who ‘walk-in’ will be reviewed and provided with an appointment at the earliest opportunity, or seen as an urgent appointment.
Choice of Doctor
Clients will be encouraged to book with their doctor of choice but this may not always be possible.
Short or long consultations will be booked by the receptionist as required by the GP, Health Worker or client. Please let the receptionist know if you need to book a long appointment.
Management of Your Personal Health Information
Client records are confidential documents. It is the policy of Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services to maintain the security of Personal Health Information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
There is an intercom system at the front entrance to the building for communication with the Emergency Department staff after hours. You will be able to see an Emergency Doctor or Registered Nurse as necessary. Please call the Emergency staff on (07) 4226 4100 after hours if advice is required. Gurriny provides after hours home visits or residential care home visits if the one call doctor or the Gurriny doctor deems it necessary.
