Future health careers were front and centre in Yarrabah just a few days ago as Gurriny Yealamucka proudly welcomed students from Djarragun College and Yarrabah high Campus for a special Health Careers Immersion Day in partnership with CheckUP Australia.
More than 20 students spent the day exploring different areas across Gurriny Yealamucka, meeting staff, hearing real stories from health professionals and gaining a closer look at the many career pathways available within community health.
Throughout the day, students took part in interactive activities, connected with teams across the service and experienced firsthand the important work happening every day to support community wellbeing.
A highlight for many was the visit from Queensland Ambulance Service, who spoke with students about opportunities within QAS and gave students the chance to step inside and explore a real ambulance.
The day created strong conversations around future opportunities in health and showcased the value of creating spaces where young people can learn, ask questions and see whatโs possible for their future.
A big thank you to everyone involved including our own Chloe Sellwood in making the day such a positive and engaging experience for the students and visiting schools.
