Yarrabah youth between 16–25 will have the opportunity to come together, share their ideas and have their voices heard at a special youth gathering on Thursday, October 1.
Held at the Yarrabah Leisure Centre from 9am to 3.30pm, the gathering is centred around three key messages: Learn. Lead. Participate!
The event is encouraging young people to recognise the important role they can play in shaping the future of their community.
The message behind the gathering is simple but powerful - your ideas matter, your experiences matter and your voice matters.
Young people have the power to make a difference in their community, and the gathering provides an opportunity to come together and talk about the issues that matter to them.
It will also highlight the benefits of participating in community organisations, including having a say on issues that affect the community.
For young people in Yarrabah, the gathering offers a chance to connect, participate and contribute their perspectives while learning more about the importance of having a voice and being involved.
The full-day event will run from 9am until 3.30pm, with morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch provided.
Yarrabah young people aged 16–25 are encouraged to attend and make their voices heard.
Whether it's sharing an idea, contributing to a conversation or simply getting involved, every voice can play a part.
The future starts with YOU.
