Gurriny Yealamucka has delivered a major update on the Yarrabah Soap Program, thanking the 17 refill station holders who keep the initiative running strong across community.

Their commitment continues to drive the program’s mission of preventing the preventable through simple, everyday hygiene support.

Public Health Team Leader, Renee Grosso said the program’s success is built on genuine community effort.

“Our refill station holders are the heartbeat of this program,” she said.

“Because of them, families across Yarrabah have easy access to soap every single day — and that keeps our community healthier.”

Renee also thanked the broader Yarrabah community for embracing the program with pride.

“Every local person who refills a bottle, reuses a container or brings a mate along is helping us build a cleaner, stronger Yarrabah. It’s a small action with a big impact.”

The team is currently running low on product, but restocking is already underway.

Fresh pallets are due to arrive in mid-January, with all refill sites returning to full supply shortly after.

“We really appreciate everyone’s patience — we’re on it,” Renee added.

In even bigger news, the program is expanding its range.

Thanks to support from partners at Easey Earth, laundry liquid will soon be added to the refill options.

This new product will help families keep clothes, sheets and blankets clean, while reducing plastic waste and saving money.

“This program is about community strength,” Renee said.

“Every refill is one step toward a healthier Yarrabah — and we’re only just getting started.”
