SiStember

Each September Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services proudly delivers SiStember, a vibrant, month-long celebration of sisterhood, strength and women’s wellbeing in Yarrabah.

More than just a series of events, SiStember is a movement — a time for women across community to come together, share stories, support one another and stand strong in culture and connection.

Throughout the month, a range of women-focused activities and community events are held to promote health awareness, healing and togetherness. From yarning circles and wellbeing workshops to cultural activities, fitness sessions and creative gatherings, SiStember creates safe and welcoming spaces where women can learn, laugh and grow side by side.

SiStember places a strong focus on women’s health education, encouraging conversations about physical, social and emotional wellbeing in ways that are culturally respectful and easy to understand. Just as importantly, it celebrates the power of community — reminding women they are never alone, and that support is always close by.

As Gurriny Yealamucka’s flagship women’s initiative, SiStember continues to build pride, confidence and connection among women of all ages.
