Immunisations
(GYHSAC) delivers a comprehensive, culturally safe immunisation program that supports the health and wellbeing of the Yarrabah community – from out littlest bubs to Elders.
(GYHSAC) provides and supports the safe delivery and management of the National Immunisations Program (NIP). We work closely with community has access to immunisations in line with best-practice guidelines.
Our dedicated team of nurses, midwives and doctors at both of our Bukki Road and Workshop Road clinics are fully trained and ready to provide vaccinations through both scheduled appointments and regular consultations.
Our Immunisation Program
Childhood Immunisations
National immunisation schedule for children at key milestones:
- 6 weeks–2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 12 months
- 18 months
- 4 years
- Around 9 years
Adolescent catch-ups
Vaccines offered for:
- 12–13 years (typically Year 7)
- 15–19 years – including HPV, meningococcal & other catch-ups
Antenatal care
Expecting mums are offered key vaccinations throughout pregnancy to protect both mum and baby – including flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines.
Adults & Elders
Adult and Elder health is supported with:
- Flu vaccines (available March–December)
- COVID-19 boosters
- 10-yearly tetanus updates
- Catch-up and age-specific vaccinations for people aged 50+
- Annual flu vaccinations are available for children 6 months to 15 years and adults, with clinics typically kicking off in March each year
