General Practitioner (GP)’s working at (GYHSAC) deliver culturally safe, holistic, and community-based primary healthcare to the community of Yarrabah.
Key Responsibilities of a (GYHSAC) GP:
Chronic Disease Management
- Manage conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory issues, and renal disease
Collaborative Care
- Work within a multidisciplinary team at (GYHSAC) – nurses, Indigenous Health Workers, Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB), visiting specialists and allied health professionals
Culturally Safe Care specific to the community of Yarrabah
- Deliver healthcare that respects Aboriginal culture, values, and traditions
- Work in partnership with Aboriginal Health Workers (AHWs) and community members
Primary Health Care
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions
- Provide preventative care, chronic disease management, and acute care
