𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲? – 𝗔𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗕’𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀?
The friendly rivalry is already heating up at Gurriny Yealamucka ahead of tonight’s State of Origin opener — and the banter has officially begun. 😆💙❤️
Last year it was Katie B who had the final laugh, with her mighty Maroons storming home to win the final two games and take the series. 👏🏽
But this year… all eyes are on Aunty Jan.
Will she be celebrating Blues success by fulltime tonight? Or will Katie B and Queensland somehow find a way to get it done all over again? 😂
Meanwhile, the Comms guy has gone with an early 24-12 Blues win tonight over QLD.
No matter which side you’re backing, one thing’s for certain —
there’ll be plenty of laughs, plenty of banter and plenty of passionate footy fans around Yarrabah and Australia tonight. 🏉🔥
Alright community…
👇🏽 What’s YOUR score prediction for Game One tonight? 👇🏽

Yarrabah’s next generation will once again take centre stage as Gurriny Yealamucka launches the 2026 Young Person’s Check (YPC) campaign — reimagined as the vibrant and dynamic 𝗬𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹. 🎉🏀🎶
Now recognised as one of the only dedicated youth health festivals of its kind in Australia this strong initiative continues to lead nationally — creating a culturally strong, welcoming and empowering space for young people aged 15–30 to connect with their health, identity and community. 💪🏾🖤💛❤️
The Yarrabah Community Fun Run unofficially launches things on Thursday, June 18, while YPC starts on Monday, June 22, with the six-week campaign to focus on:
👉🏾 Encouraging Yarrabah youth to get health checks and return for their results.
👉🏾 Encouraging Yarrabah youth to take charge of their health journeys.
The first three weeks will transform the Bukki Road Clinic yard into an exciting youth festival hub packed with:
🍹 The iconic juice bar.
🏀 Basketball.
🎵 Music.
🎨 Face painting.
🤝 Youth-led activities and activations.
Behind all the energy is a serious purpose — supporting local young people to feel safe, seen, connected and empowered to prioritise their health 🌿💙
After an incredible 227 health checks completed in 2025, this year’s festival is set to build even stronger momentum. 🚀

• EMOTIONAL - threats, humiliation, coercive control, gaslighting
• FINANCIAL - taking your money, stopping you from working
• DIGITAL - tracking your phone, reading your messages
• CULTURAL - using Culture to justify harm
• ISOLATION - cutting you off from family and friends
If any of this feels familiar, you are not imagining it. Support is here.

Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services staff members recently took part in ongoing cultural capability learning experiences across Yarrabah continuing the organisation’s commitment to strengthening culturally informed practice and connection to Country. 💙
Staff participated in immersive experiences at the Yarrabah Arts and Cultural Centre and through the Mandingalbay Hands on Country Eco Tour, gaining valuable insights from local Traditional Owners, artists and cultural knowledge holders. 🤝
At the Yarrabah Arts and Cultural Centre, staff explored the cultural, historical and contemporary significance of Yarrabah Country through storytelling, art and place-based learning. ✨
Meanwhile, the Mandingalbay Hands on Country Eco Tour provided staff with a guided cultural experience across Cairns Harbour and Mandingalbay Yidinji Country, including rainforest walks, bush food and medicine learning, visits to culturally significant sites and discussions around the diversity and history of traditional lands.
The experiences form part of Gurriny Yealamucka’s ongoing Cultural Capabilities Training program, designed to support respectful, informed and culturally grounded service delivery across all areas of the organisation.
