Women’s Health & Wellbeing yarning circle

Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services is launching a Women's Health & Wellbeing Yarning Circle, commencing Wednesday 10 June in Bishop Malcolm Park, Yarrabah.

The program runs every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm. It's a culturally safe space where Community women come together to connect, share stories, and talk openly about health and wellbeing. There's no pressure to participate. Women who prefer to listen are just as welcome as those who want to yarn.

Leading the program are Katrina Raisele and Amanda Harris, Gurriny Yealamucka's Women's Health and Wellbeing team. They work alongside the women of Yarrabah to support social and emotional wellbeing, encourage connection, and create opportunities that strengthen families and community life.

The team works closely with the SEWB and Clinic teams, with a focus on women's group activities, Sistember, community gatherings, and breast screening awareness. They also support women facing personal or family challenges and assist with referral pathways, so women and their children access the services they need.

Attendance is free. Light refreshments are provided, and mums with toddlers and bubs are welcome.

Stakeholders and health professionals working with Yarrabah women are encouraged to share this program with their clients and networks.
